A Message from the Founder and Chair of LEADderm
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is with great enthusiasm and a profound sense of purpose that I announce the inception of the LEADderm, a leadership conference inspired by my own journey and a deep commitment to inspire positive change in our specialty.
As a female leader who has traversed challenging paths in my career, I have felt the struggles and disparities. It is this firsthand experience that fuels my dedication to fostering change and creating opportunities for individuals of all genders and races. This conference is a response to the need for diversity at the pinnacle of leadership, driven by a belief that varied perspectives enrich decision-making and propel organizations towards true innovation.
In the wake of the pandemic, my concerns have also deepened, particularly regarding the burnout crisis in healthcare. Having witnessed the toll it takes on dedicated professionals, I am committed to addressing burnout and the broader challenges that contribute to the "great resignation" phenomenon.
Furthermore, my motivation is fueled by the alarming trend of physicians leaving their careers prematurely, a trend that has significant consequences for the healthcare system as a whole. LEADderm also seeks to be a hub for the exchange of ideas, where attendees can learn from each other's successes and failures, ultimately enriching their own leadership journeys.
In launching this conference, I hope to create a space where dermatologists and leaders can come together to share insights, strategies, and support. LEADderm dermatology conference is not just an event; it is a movement towards a more inclusive, purpose-driven, and innovative future. By championing diversity, fostering professional purpose among physicians, and providing a platform for idea-sharing, I hope to contribute to a world where leadership is truly representative, purposeful, and impactful.
I invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we strive to redefine a leadership landscape that is not only diverse but also resilient, compassionate, and sustainable.
- Jennifer
